Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the questions we have been asked about our signs over the years.

Why does my sign look different from the picture?

Each sign is personally created by myself or my team. Because they are hand-made, there will be slight variations from sign to sign. No two signs are exactly alike, so you get a unique piece!

Can my sign go outside?

All our wood signs are indoor/outdoor. We use exterior house paint, so they can survive the elements and be left outside. If you have a canvas sign, it can go outside, but protect it under an overhang, as the wood frame could warp over time.

Do you do custom sizes?

We love making custom signs! On the Sign Details page (also found on the Custom Inquiry page), we list our common sizes, paint colors, and some of our available ribbons. Use this information as a guide when requesting a sign. If you’re not sure of the details of the sign or need help with your idea, put a request in, and we can connect via email or phone to work out the details. We love to brainstorm.

How do I get something I saw on an Instagram post?

If you saw something on Instagram (or Facebook), and don’t see it offered in our online Store, click on the green “Seen on Instagram” button and send us a note. We might have it in stock, or it can be quickly made to order.

Where do I hang these signs?

Anywhere. Hanging on or next to an exterior door, a fence post, a door knob, between two garage doors, on a wreath. Inside on a window sill, on a shelf, over a door, I mean we could go on and on and on and on…

How do I stop my sign from banging in the wind?

There are a few options. You can add felt pads to the back or use removable museum putty or 3M tape to minimize or adhere temporarily to the door. On larger signs, people have used fishing wire across so they don’t catch in the wind.

I am overwhelmed with what to order. Do you have any advice?

We love to find that perfect sign for someone. Come into the barn during hours and work with directly with us, or call or email us anytime and we’ll help you.

What is the best way to store my signs?

We recommend storing them in the plastic sleeve we provide. That way, the signs can be placed on top of each other in a bin or wherever you store the rest of your décor. This minimizes sticking to something else. Some customers store them on a basement or garage wall, similar to our main feature wall, and exchange when the seasons changes. Just depends on how many signs you have!
